Congressman-Elect Heck's Veterans Day Statement

Today, Congressman-elect Heck issued the following statement in observance of Veterans Day. Congressman-elect Heck is a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, an emergency room physician and a small business owner.

“Today, on Veterans Day, we pause to honor our veterans: past, present and future – those who served, those who are serving and those who are preparing to serve the nation in the days ahead. With determination and valor, they marched to foreign shores armed not with notions of glory - conquest was never their goal - but with a simple notion that all peoples in all nations have a right to live in a world free from tyranny. And they fought with an equally simple conviction - that some principles in life are worth dying for. May God bless those who answered the call,” concluded Congressman-elect Heck.

Congressman-elect Heck will participate in several events today in honor of the veterans who have served and the servicemen and women who continue to serve today. This morning, Congressman-elect Heck joined American Legion Post 149, of which he is a member, for the Veterans Day parade in downtown Las Vegas. This afternoon he will join the celebration of the Grand Opening of the McCarran USO, which he advocated for while serving in the Nevada State Senate. Congressman-elect Heck will end his day by sharing the honor of participating in the The Venetian Red Carpet Welcome ceremony for the Wounded Warriors from Walter Reed Army Medical Center who are sponsored this weekend by the Sands Corporation’s “Tribute To The Troops.”
