Titus Claims She’s The Congressional Gold Standard

Today, Heck for Congress issued the following statement after Congresswoman Dina Titus announced on KNPR’s “State of Nevada” that she was the “gold standard” nationally. During the interview today, Congresswoman Titus continued to brag about the stimulus bill that has failed to bring jobs to southern Nevada and included her new cheap shot blaming Nevada’s Department Of Energy for the stimulus’s failure.

“If Congresswoman Titus is the ‘gold standard’ as she touted today on KNPR’s ‘State of Nevada,’ then our country is in serious trouble. If the Democrats running Washington actually consider the Congressional District with the highest foreclosure rate in the country, 15 percent unemployment, and less than 400 jobs created in the Pelosi / Titus failed stimulus as the ‘gold standard,’ then it’s no wonder that Democrats are hemorrhaging seats across the nation,” said Mari Nakashima, spokeswoman for Dr. Joe Heck. “Southern Nevadans know Titus’s ‘gold standard’ is nothing more than fool’s gold. Titus’s rhetoric may have carried her through the Obama wave in 2008, but a wave of reality will carry her back to the classroom in 2010. Southern Nevadans are not better off than they were two years, and Republicans, Independents, and Democrats are heading to the ballot box to vote for a New Direction that doesn’t include Dina Titus,” concludedNakashima.
