National Security
As a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves and a graduate of the U.S. Army War College with a Masters of Strategic Studies, Dr. Heck has the first hand knowledge and experience to provide a specialized look at our nation’s security. Our world changed on September 11, 2001, and when his nation called, Dr. Heck responded to “Ground Zero” and witnessed the devastation firsthand. Since that time Dr. Heck has done a tour of duty in Iraq when he could have used an exemption to stay home.

Improving Nevada's educational opportunities is central to the future economic success of Southern Nevada. Politicians cannot pretend that the quality of our educational systems does not directly impact our economic condition and the future of our state and nation. Nevada’s students aren’t just competing against people from Arizona or California for jobs, they are competing against students in different nations across the globe. If we want our graduates to be able to compete on a global level we need to treat education as a top-level priority instead of an operation where more of the status quo is acceptable.
Immigration
Our nation’s border security is a key issue when addressing both our economic and national security interests. Dr. Heck feels strongly that a comprehensive border security plan is paramount to rebuilding our nation’s economy as well as protecting our nation’s security.
Sportsman
As a father, military officer, and first responder, Dr. Heck firmly supports our 2nd Amendment Rights and the rights of sportsmen across the state of Nevada. He respects the proud heritage of Nevada sportsmen and understands the importance of passing on our hunting and fishing traditions to future generations of Nevadans. The rights of Nevada’s citizens to use public lands needs to be defended and access expanded to promote the sporting activities which are so firmly rooted in Nevada culture.Learn More >>
