LAS VEGAS — Today, following the announcement by President Barack Obama of his plan to bring Guantanamo Bay detainees to multiple locations throughout the United States, the Dr. Joe Heck for U.S. Senate campaign released the following statement criticizing Democratic candidate Catherine Cortez Masto for not opposing the misguided and legacy-driven plan:

“Catherine Cortez Masto has been in lock step with Obama-Reid policies that endanger Nevadans,” said Heck spokesperson Brian Baluta. “From her zealous support for the President’s unpopular Iran nuclear deal to her flip flop on the threat posed by the Syrian refugee crisis, Cortez Masto has a tendency to put politics ahead of our national security. She needs to tell Nevadans why she thinks bringing these dangerous terrorists to American soil is a good idea.”
