LAS VEGAS — Today, the Dr. Joe Heck for U.S. Senate campaign launched On Duty for Joe – a social media effort to mobilize volunteers when Heck has military duty with the U.S. Army Reserve this week and going forward.
“When Dr. Heck is on military duty with the Army Reserve, he is unable to visit with his fellow Nevadans, campaign, or refute his opponent’s attacks. That’s why he needs your help. Show your support on social media by going on duty for Joe and sign up to get involved, volunteer, and help propel Joe to victory in November,” said Campaign Manager James Langenderfer, who, like Heck, is an Iraq veteran.
Supporters are asked to use the hashtag #OnDutyForJoe and share on social media why they think Heck is the right choice to replace Harry Reid in the U.S. Senate. At ondutyforjoe.com they can even record a video to tell Nevada why they are going on duty for Joe.
To promote the effort, prominent members of the veterans’ community in the U.S. Senate and Nevada will be featured in On Duty for Joe web videos.
For more than 25 years, Dr. Joe Heck has served as a soldier in the U.S. Army Reserve. He has been called to active duty three times, including to Iraq where he ran the emergency services and aeromedical evacuation section of a combat support hospital. Today he holds the rank of brigadier general, which often calls him away from his important race to replace Harry Reid in the U.S. Senate.
“We can’t win without your support. Knocking doors and making phone calls helps us to spread Joe’s message of common sense conservatism. We’re going on duty for Joe because he is a true leader and the clear choice to be the next U.S. Senator from Nevada,” said Langenderfer.
