Today, the Dr. Joe Heck for U.S. Senate campaign released its sixth ad of the general election campaign. “Fired” asks what would happen to most Nevadans if they followed Catherine Cortez Masto’s lead and spent 174 days away from work on trips to places like Switzerland, Argentina, Hawaii (twice), Florida, and California (six times). Most Nevadans would be fired, but Cortez Masto got to rub elbows with lobbyists and corporate donors and now wants a promotion to Senator.
“If most Nevadans spent 174 days away from work, they would be fired,” stated Paulo Sibaja, Heck spokesperson. “To add insult to injury, Cortez Masto’s trips were paid for by lobbyists and special interest groups and were intended to connect politicians to corporate donors. Sometimes even taxpayers picked up the bill. While Nevadans work hard and pay their taxes, Cortez Masto enjoyed her stay at the Ritz-Carlton in Hawaii and expensed her meals to Nevadans.”
The ad starts statewide today and runs until October 6 as part of a $475,000 buy.

Joe Heck:
I’m Joe Heck and I approve this message.
Female Voiceover:
What would happen to you… if you spent one hundred seventy-four days away from work?
You’d be fired.
But not Catherine Cortez Masto.
As Attorney General, Cortez Masto spent one hundred seventy-four days away from work on special interest and taxpayer funded trips…
…to places like Switzerland… Argentina… and Hawaii with lobbyists and corporate donors.
Catherine Cortez Masto: She just isn’t working.
