Today, the Dr. Joe Heck for U.S. Senate campaign released its fifth television ad of the general election. “Oath” contrasts how Nevada’s two U.S. Senate candidates each prioritized their time from 2007 through 2014. As attorney general, Catherine Cortez Masto spent 174 days on special interest and taxpayer-funded trips at a cost of $72,581.71. Cortez Masto’s 40-plus trips took her to Switzerland, Argentina, Hawaii (twice), Florida, and California (six times) to rub elbows with lobbyists and corporate donors.*

During that same time, Joe Heck spent 460 days on military duty protecting us – including a tour of duty in Iraq where he saved the lives of American heroes.

“For Nevadans, the contrast is clear, while Catherine Cortez Masto was putting her feet in the sand with lobbyist friends, Joe Heck was putting his boots in the sand with American soldiers. Cortez Masto looks for ways to improve her own life. Joe Heck looks for ways to improve the lives of others, which is what he will do as Nevada’s next U.S. Senator,” said Heck spokesperson Brian Baluta.
