Grateful for AAG support, vows to continue strong ties within Asian American community as Senator

Underscoring his strong relationships with Nevada’s thriving Asian population, Dr. Joe Heck earned the endorsement of Las Vegas’ Asian American Group for U.S. Senate. Led by President Mike Vaswani, the Asian American Group endorsed federal and state level candidates choosing a mix of Democrats and Republicans in their endorsements.

“I’m honored to receive the Asian American Group’s endorsement and grateful for their support. Nevada is home to a vibrant and diverse Asian American community united in their pursuit of achieving the American dream. The focus of my campaign is to ensure all Nevadans can enjoy the same opportunities as I have had to lead productive, successful lives in safe and secure communities. I look forward to maintaining my strong ties with and advocacy on behalf of the Asian American community of Nevada as their U.S. Senator,” said Republican candidate Dr. Joe Heck.

During his time representing Nevada’s Third District in the House, Dr. Heck established strong ties in the AsianAmerican community through outreach efforts locally and a strong record of supporting policies in Washington important to community members. Specifically, Heck has pushed to streamline the family unification process for Asian American immigrants and is leading the fight to finally recognize and compensate the Filipino veterans of World War II for their service to the United States.

The mission of the Asian American Group is to create awareness within the Asian communities regarding political and social issues that can impact the future of Nevada and emphasize the importance of integration and cooperation of all different Asian communities under one strong and cohesive entity.
