ACA continues to hurt Americans; Heck offers real solutions on reforming healthcare

Dr. Joe Heck, candidate for U.S. Senate, today released the following statement amid reports from the Obama Administration that “the price of the most popular plan under ObamaCare will increase by an average of 25 percent on the federal marketplace next year.”

“Obamacare continues to be a disaster for Americans. Apparently, the President left this announcement out of his remarks yesterday, but for individuals, there is no ignoring that rates are going up and coverages are going down. Even individuals receiving subsidies for their premiums have deductibles they cannot afford when they seek care.”
“While the ACA expanded access to health insurance, it has fallen well short of its stated goals of expanding access to care and lowering costs, as highlighted by this recent report. While my opponent supports Obamacare and has no plans to fix it, I am committed to enacting patient-centered healthcare reforms that actually expand access to care and reduce costs. That has been my focus in the House and that will be my focus in the Senate.”
Senate debate focus group: Heck better on healthcare
After the first and only Senate debate, a panel of voters overwhelmingly said they thought Dr. Joe Heck won the healthcare debate. When asked, one voter offered “I’m for healthcare one-hundred percent and I think he spoke a lot better on that subject than she [Cortez Masto] did.”

Heck bill seeks to spare rural Nevadans from unfair Obamacare tax
Dr. Heck introduced legislation aimed at sparing Nevadans in 10 counties - Esmeralda, Mineral, Humboldt, Pershing, Churchill, Lincoln, White Pine, Eureka, Lander, and Elko - from the individual mandate tax penalty under Obamacare because those individuals will only have one insurance carrier option in 2017.
Cortez Masto broke law in refusing to join Obamacare lawsuit
It is no surprise that Catherine Cortez Masto is still blindly supporting Obamacare. As attorney general, Cortez Masto refused to join a lawsuit challenging the law’s individual mandate as requested by then-Governor Jim Gibbons. Under Nevada law, the attorney general is obligated to join lawsuits when requested by the governor.
