Yesterday in Reno, where, because she has so little to run on, Catherine Cortez Masto resorted to recycling a four-month-old union endorsement, members of the media questioned the U.S. Senate candidate about the fallout surrounding Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. The Reno Gazette-Journal’s Seth Richardson asked Cortez Masto “Would you have used one (a private email server) at the federal level, like her (Clinton)?”
Cortez Masto refused to rule it out and said “I’m not going to speculate.”
“Catherine Cortez Masto’s refusal to say she would not have used a private email server like Hillary Clinton is baffling,” said Dr. Joe Heck for U.S. Senate spokesperson Brian Baluta. “How hard is it to say, ‘No, I would not have used a private email server in order to safeguard classified material’? Yet, we shouldn’t be surprised. Throughout Cortez Masto’s career she has been rewarded for putting party politics above the rule of law and Nevadans have paid the price. ”
In June, after being asked three times by Jon Ralston about Clinton, Cortez Masto finally conceded, “She’s already come out and said she used poor judgment. She did use poor judgment.” Now, Cortez Masto is “not going to speculate.”
